Lightning electromagnetic emission location using arrival time differencing (LEELA): An introduction to the Met Office's next generation Very Low Frequency lightning location system

This paper describes the Met Office's new lightning location system LEELA. A brief overview of the upgraded hardware and geolocation algorithms is given. LEELA has improved lightning detection capabilities, especially at night. Local Ecological Knowledge Reveals the Distribution of Cryptic Nocturnal Wildlife 局域生态知识揭示隐秘夜行野生动物的分布

Many nocturnal animals are difficult to study because they are rarely seen, including nocturnal primates, galagos and pottos, in West Africa. Working with over 600 people in 52 villages in southern Guinea‐Bissau, we found that communities frequently recognized galagos by their red eyeshine and distinctive calls, while pottos were not known.

Boldness and niche width structure spatial interactions in a natural rodent community

We show that individual behavioural differences (boldness) structure spatial encounter patterns within a natural multi‐species community. By linking personality to space use and interaction structure, our study demonstrates how intraspecific variation can scale up to shape community‐level processes.
