No‐analogue futures are characteristic of the Anthropocene, but how global change, and societies' responses, will affect plant invasions remains unclear. Conducting research now to address future needs is crucial for guiding invasion management and policy.

Direct extraction of lignocellulose from wood derivatives was achieved by introducing a bulky isocyanate substituent to lignin in a water–ethanol mixture. This process exploits the tunable solvent affinity of lignin to achieve its whitening, enabling the isolation of lignocellulose.
