Influence of Surface Sealants and Chromogenic Dietary Agents on the Color Stability of Composite Resin Restorations: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Background: The influence of surface sealants on the color stability of composite resin restorations remains controversial. This in vitro study evaluated the effect of two surface sealants on the color stability of a nanohybrid composite resin exposed to

A Versatile Microfluidic Extrusion‐Based Hydrogel Platform for Self‐Organization and Long‐Term Maintenance of Engineered 3D Lymphatic Endothelium

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Microfluidic coaxial extrusion generates size‐controlled 3D lymphatic tubes from primary human dermal lymphatic endothelial cells in a defined four‐component matrix. These engineered vessels self‐organize into stable lymphatic endothelium, maintain selective macromolecular permeability for 30 days, and enable direct comparison with blood endothelial ...

Stability Analysis of Anthocyanins Using Alcoholic Extracts from Black Carrot (Daucus Carota ssp. Sativus Var. Atrorubens Alef.)

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Anthocyanins are used for food coloring due their low toxicity and health benefits. They are extracted from different sources, but black carrot has higher anthocyanin content compared with common fruits and vegetables.

Epoxy Methacrylate Resin as Binder Polymer for Black Negative-Tone Photoresists

open access: yesMaterials Sciences and Applications, 2020
Epoxy acrylate (EA) resin, which originates from epoxides, has long been served as a photocurable coating and adhesive material owing to its double bonds. Specifically, alkaline-developable EA resins can be used as a binder polymer in negative-tone photoresists.

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

A Super‐Adhesive Air Filter With Capillarity‐Mediated Spontaneous Particle Absorption via Dynamic Bond Exchange

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We address the inherently weak particle adhesion of conventional air filters by coating a dynamically crosslinked adhesive layer that delivers capillarity‐driven strong adhesion and particle absorption mediated by dynamic bond exchange. The resulting enhancement in particle adhesion enables efficient ultrafast (up to 20 m s−1) and omnidirectional ...

Dispersion of carbon black in resin by kneading with a continuous kneader and the evaluation of the dispersion.

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Powder Technology, Japan, 1988
A keading experiment was carried out on thermoplastic resin and carbon black (materials for toner) with a continuous kneader using the kneading temperature as a variabe. In addition to measuring the mixing torque in kneading and the residence time of the material, evaluation of the condtion of dispersion was attempted by means of image analysis. The ...

Conductive Hydrogels for Exogenous Sensing and Cell Fate Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We engineer electrically conductive hydrogels by combining sulfated glycosaminoglycans with semiconducting polymers. These hydrogels bind bioactive proteins, including growth factors, whose release or retention can be modulated by low‐voltage stimulation. The hydrogels are also integrated as 3D channels in organic electrochemical transistors as part of
