Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, 2009The ‘Black Sea security’ as a concept must be judged, unfortunately, from the ‘insecurity’ point of view. Since 1991, there is more debate about Black Sea ‘insecurity’, rather than regional ‘security’. The contextual problem is not only due to the fact that in this region there is a concentration of ‘frozen’ conflicts.

Intense mesocyclones in the Black Sea region
Russian Meteorology and Hydrology, 2016The statistical study of intense mesoscale cyclones formed in the Black Sea region in 1979-2013 is carried out using the surface wind data of the RegCM climate model. Such cyclone parameters as intensity, lifetime, area, height, and trajectories over the sea as well as the place and time of origin are considered.
