Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

A study on dynamic modeling to examine the impact of reducing water pollution on market condition in the Turkish Black Sea Basin [PDF]
The Black Sea has severe water pollution problems during the last three decades due to tremendous loads of different types of pollutants discharged from the entire basin Therefore, finding solutions to improve the environmental status of the Black Sea is

Significant environmental changes have occurred in marginal estuarine seas in the past, driven by changes in sea level and water and salt balances. Predicting the future evolution of these seas is a scientific challenge because adequate scenario studies ...

Evolution‐guided yeast complementation reveals functional differences in human PSPH variants
Ancient genomes can help guide which human genetic variants are tested experimentally. This study applies that idea to PSPH, a gene involved in serine biosynthesis, and uses high‐throughput yeast complementation to compare variant function. The findings reveal measurable differences among selected alleles and illustrate the value of evolution‐guided ...

In silico and in vitro exploration of a tyrosinase for biocatalytic production of catechols
Tyrosinase from Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum is a promising biocatalyst for producing valuable catechols from monophenol substrates. This tyrosinase is uniquely suited to this due to its high monophenolase : diphenolase ratio. We combined in silico docking and in vivo kinetic characterisation of this tyrosinase with 11 industrially relevant monophenols,

We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Regionalization in the Black Sea Area: a Comparative Study
The post-Cold War period in Europe was favourable for the development of new regionalization projects which surrounded the EU. The Baltic Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Black Sea became the centre of new European sub-regions. Each project stands out now through a certain image that it received mirroring its type and level of regionalization emerged
