Toward Scalable Solutions for Silver‐Based Gas Diffusion Electrode Fabrication for the Electrochemical Conversion of CO2 – A Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Influence of blade-to-blade dissimilarity on alleviation of helicopter blade-vortex interactions

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling, 2001
This paper numerically examines possible alleviation of parallel blade-vortex interaction (BVI), experienced by helicopters in low-speed descent, through the introduction of blade-to-blade dissimilarity. A four-bladed rotor with two sets of opposite blades is considered, and the radius of one set is reduced to 80% of the baseline radius.

Two-dimensional cold-air cascade study of a film-cooled turbine stator blade. 4: Comparison of experimental and analytical aerodynamic results for blade with 12 rows of 0.076-centimeter-(0.030-inch-) diameter holes having streamwise ejection angles [PDF]

open access: yes
Previously published experimental aerodynamic efficiency results for a film cooled turbine stator blade are compared with analytical results computed from two published analytical methods.

Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

Design of a Blade Antenna Embedded in Low-Cost Dielectric Substrate

open access: yesJournal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications
A design of a blade antenna embedded in low-cost dielectric substrate (FR4) and operating at 4.97 GHz is the subject of this paper. The antenna design is accomplished using parametric analysis in the HFSS™ software, where the antenna dimensions are ...

Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

Influence of the Cutting Angle on the Resistance of Bulldozer Working Equipment Blade Burial When the Machine Is Moving

open access: yesCommunications
The influence of the cutting angle on the resistance to the bulldozer blade burial during its movement, taking into account the one-sided stressed state of the soil, was studied in the research results of which are presented in this paper.
