Fault Diagnosis of Industrial Wind Turbine Blade Bearing Using Acoustic Emission Analysis
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2020Wind turbine blade bearings are often operated in harsh circumstances, which may easily be damaged causing the turbine to lose control and to further result in the reduction of energy production.

Blade to blade vibration damper
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1983L'appareil ci-decrit permet l'amortissement effectif de l'energie vibratoire des aubes. The apparatus described above enables the effective damping of the vibratory energy of the blades. Les concepts concernent essentiellement l'amortissement dit aube-aube en comparaison a l'amortissement aube-sol.

Blade to blade vibration damper
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1985Apparatus for dampening rotor blade vibratory energy in a rotary machine is disclosed. Concepts employing blade to blade damping are discussed. In one detailed form, a damper (52) is disposed to seat against the undersides of adjacent blade platform sections (20) and a seal (42) is spaced sufficiently close to the damper so as to be deflected ...

The Impact of Blade-to-Blade Flow Variability on Turbine Blade Cooling Performance
40th AIAA/ASME/SAE/ASEE Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit, 2004The focus of this paper is the impact of manufacturing variability on turbine blade cooling flow and, subsequently, its impact on oxidation life. A simplified flow network model of the cooling air supply system and a row of blades is proposed. Using this simplified model, the controlling parameters which affect the distribution of cooling flow in a ...

Fan Blade Flutter: Single Blade Instability or Blade to Blade Coupling?
Volume 1: Aircraft Engine; Marine; Turbomachinery; Microturbines and Small Turbomachinery, 1985Different types of fan blade flutter occur at the various compressor flow regimes. Sub/transonic stall flutter and two forms of supersonic started flow flutter have been studied in a straight cascade wind tunnel. Results show clearly that these three common forms of flutter can exist as single-degree-of-freedom (single-blade instabilities).

Wind Turbine Blade Breakage Monitoring With Deep Autoencoders
IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2018Monitoring wind turbine blade breakages based on supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) data is investigated in this research. A preliminary data analysis is performed to demonstrate that existing SCADA features are unable to present irregular ...

Volume 7: Structures and Dynamics, Parts A and B, 2012
This two part paper focuses on the optimum placement of a limited number of dampers, i.e. fewer than the number of blades, on a bladed disk to induce the smallest possible amplitude of blade response with or without involuntary, random mistuning. Intentional mistuning is also considered as an option to reduce the amplitude of blade response and the ...

Blade-Coated Hybrid Perovskite Solar Cells with Efficiency > 17%: An In Situ Investigation
, 2018Blade-coating has recently emerged as a scalable fabrication method for hybrid perovskite solar cells, but it currently underperforms spin-coating, yielding a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of ∼15% for CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPbI3).
