Y-type three-blade bluff body for wind energy harvesting
Applied Physics Letters, 2018A three-blade bluff body for wind energy harvesting is proposed and designed. The bluff body with a Y-type cross-section is formed by three rigid thin blades and fixed at the free end of a piezoelectric cantilever beam.

The Effect of Blade Geometry on Blade Stall Characteristics
Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, 2005The effect of rotation has been investigated with emphasis on the impact of blade geometry on the “correction factor” in stall models. The data used came from field tests and wind tunnel experiments performed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and were restricted to the steady-state nonyawed conditions.

Evolution and Progress in the Development of Savonius Wind Turbine Rotor Blade Profiles and Shapes
Journal of solar energy engineering, 2018The blade profiles and blade shapes of vertical-axis Savonius wind turbine rotors have undergone a series of changes over the past three decades. Wind turbine aerodynamicists have carried out numerous computational and experimental research to arrive at ...

Blades have the edge [blade servers
IEEE Spectrum, 2005An increasing number of computer rooms all over the world are switching from conventional servers to blade servers because they offer huge improvements over conventional, rack-mounted units. The greatest benefit of blades is their flexibility, which allows them to be easily installed, managed and repaired compared to conventional servers.

Turbine Blade Cooling: The Blade Temperature Distribution
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part A: Journal of Power and Energy, 2006Air cooling of high-temperature gas turbines is a standard practice; the air first cools the blading by internal convection and then by external film cooling, after ejection through holes and slots in the blade surface. In some ‘conventional’ analyses of turbine blade cooling, a ‘standard blade’ is invoked, which has a uniform blade temperature equal ...

Ridley Scott's 1982 film Blade Runner is now widely recognized as an undisputed masterwork of science-fiction cinema and one of the most influential films released in the last forty years. Yet on its original release, it was both a critical and commercial failure, criticized for its perceived prioritizing of style over content and a narrative that did ...
