Structural Design, Analysis, and Testing of a 10 kW Fabric-Covered Wind Turbine Blade

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Reducing the weight of a wind turbine blade is a major issue. Wind turbines have become larger in size to increase power generating efficiency. The blade has also grown in length to take more wind energy.

Design and Finite Element Analysis of Mixed Aerofoil Wind Turbine Blades [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Wind turbine technology is one of the rapid growth sectors of renewable energy all over the world. As a core component of a wind turbine, it is a common view that the design and manufacturing of rotor blades represent about 20% of the total investment of

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.

Analysis of Blade Behavior in Outer-Blade Slicing.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1994
The blade behavior in the outer-blade slicing has been analyzed by computer simulation to clarify the machining mechanism. The main results obtained are as follows. (1) The blade deflection comes from a small lateral grinding force on the blade outer edge, and it is enlarged by the lateral grinding force on the blade side face. (2) The lateral grinding

Engineered Peptides‐Based Hybrid‐Nested Microneedle Effectively Treat Biofilm‐Infected Diabetic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid‐nested microneedle/cryogel scaffold (MQW‐CMg‐MOF) is designed for efficient biofilm removal and accelerated healing of diabetic wounds. The scaffold shows substantial biofilm removal in vitro and in a preclinical diabetic swine biofilm‐infected wound model compared to the control.

Improving the Capacity Retention of Poly(vinylphenothiazine) as Battery Electrode Material by Pore Size Engineering of Porous N‐Doped Carbon Nanospheres as Conductive Additive

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By using (meso)porous N‐doped carbon nanospheres with tailored intraparticle porosity and constant particle size as conductive carbon in PVMPT‐based organic battery electrodes, the complete volume of the carbon is accessible for the immobilization of PVMPT, resulting in high accessible specific capacities while maintaining a good rate capability and ...

Sparse Representation Based Frequency Detection and Uncertainty Reduction in Blade Tip Timing Measurement for Multi-Mode Blade Vibration Monitoring

open access: yesItalian National Conference on Sensors, 2017
The accurate monitoring of blade vibration under operating conditions is essential in turbo-machinery testing. Blade tip timing (BTT) is a promising non-contact technique for the measurement of blade vibrations.
