Parameter Variation in Planetary Ball Milling of Titanium Aluminide Powder in XHV‐Adequate Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the effects of milling parameters, including rotational speed, milling duration, and ball‐to‐powder ratio, on TiAl particle size and morphology in an XHV‐equivalent atmosphere. The creation of oxide‐free surfaces enhances the mechanical properties of green bodies.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.

Load Reduction Control Technology of Large-scale Wind Turbine Based on Individual Pitch Control

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2013
In order to reduce the imbalance load of large wind turbine during operation due to factors such as wind shear, tower shadow, turbulence and yaw error, a load reduction control technology based on individual pitch control is proposed.

High Specification Offshore Blades. Work Package: 1C – Blade Materials. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Blades are regarded as the only component unique to wind turbine blades. They represent only 10 – 15% of the total system cost so the perception is that a reduction in the cost of energy through blade cost improvements is constrained.
