Experimental data and theoretical analysis of an operating 100 kW wind turbine [PDF]

open access: yes
Experimental test data are correlated with analyses of turbine loads and complete system behavior of the ERDA-NASA 100 kW Mod-0 wind turbine generator over a broad range of steady state conditions, as well as during transient conditions.

Chemically Doped Conductive Polymers for Wearable Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Among conductive polymers, poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS), polyaniline (PANI), and polypyrrole (PPy) are the most studied and applied. Chemical doping significantly boosts intrinsic conductivity and mechanical robustness.

A flight investigation of performance and loads for a helicopter with 10-64C main rotor blade sections [PDF]

open access: yes
A flight investigation produced data on performance and rotor loads for a teetering rotor, AH-1G helicopter flown with a main rotor that had the NLR-1T airfoil as the blade section contour.

Adhesive Double‐Network Granular Organogel E‐Skin

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce a double‐network granular organogel adhesive for electronic skin, overcoming adhesion and strength trade‐offs. It provides reversible, robust bonding and ionic conductivity, enabling wearable and soft robotic e‐skin. Thanks to the e‐skin adhesive, a soft robotic trunk can recognize touch, temperature, humidity, and acidity.

Flap-lag dynamics of hingeless helicopter blades at moderate and high advance ratios [PDF]

open access: yes
Equations for large amplitude coupled flaplag motion of a hingeless elastic helicopter blade in forward flight are derived. Only a torsionally rigid blade exicted by quasi-steady aerodynamic loads is considered. The effects of reversed flow together with

Direct Laser Writing of Magnetic Micro Actuators With a Stimulus‐Responsive Compliant Hinge

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents a versatile modular design strategy for adaptive 3D microactuators. Using two‐photon‐induced C,H insertion reactions within solid polymer layers, chemically distinct hinge and stimulus responsive materials are patterned in one step. The hinge's properties enable tunable motion, mechanical control, and reconfigurable actuation across

Wind tunnel investigation of rotor lift and propulsive force at high speed: Data analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The basic test data obtained during the lift-propulsive force limit wind tunnel test conducted on a scale model CH-47b rotor are analyzed. Included are the rotor control positions, blade loads and six components of rotor force and moment, corrected for ...

Direct Gravity‐Induced Modulation of Cardiac Conduction Pathways Evidenced Through Propagation Features in Electrophysiological Mapping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A high‐density wearable body‐surface potential mapping array reveals how gravity reshapes cardiac conduction in real time. By resolving spatiotemporal delay patterns invisible to conventional ECG, the platform uncovers posture‐dependent electrophysiological adaptations across the thorax.

Load Reduction Control Technology of Large-scale Wind Turbine Based on Individual Pitch Control

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2013
In order to reduce the imbalance load of large wind turbine during operation due to factors such as wind shear, tower shadow, turbulence and yaw error, a load reduction control technology based on individual pitch control is proposed.

Performance and loads data from an outdoor hover test of a Lynx tail rotor [PDF]

open access: yes
A Lynx tail rotor was tested in hover at the Outdoor Aerodynamic Research Facility at NASA Ames Research Center. The test objectives were to measure the isolated rotor performance to provide a baseline for subsequent testing, and to operate the rotor ...
