Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of 3D Blade Tip Clearance for Turbine Blades with Typical Cracks
As well known, the crack is a typical fault of turbine blades, which is difficult to detect due to the weak fault features contained in the rotor vibration.

Uncertainties in the calibration process of blade tip timing data against finite element model predictions [PDF]
Blade stresses are determined from blade tip timing (BTT) data by relating the measured tip deflection to the stresses via Finite Element (FE) models. This process includes some uncertainties due to the following: 1) the shift in the equilibrium position

Parameter Identification of Bladed Assemblies Using a Subspace Method [PDF]
This paper is aimed at identifying a dynamical model for bladed assemblies such as turbines. Unknown excitation forces are applied to bladed disk assemblies leading to forced vibration responses.

Blade tip-timing is one of the most effective methods for blade vibration parameters identification of turbomachinery. Once-per revolution (OPR) sensor is usually used to determine the rotating speed and as a time reference. However, the OPR sensor leads

High Temperature Magnetic Sensors for the Hot Section of Aeroengines
Magnetic sensors are widely used in aeroengines and their health management systems, but they are rarely installed in the engine hot section due to the loss of magnetic properties by permanent magnets with increasing temperature.

Identification of Vibration Events in Rotating Blades Using a Fiber Optical Tip Timing Sensor
The blade tip timing (BTT) technique has been widely used in rotation machinery for non-contact blade vibration measurements. As BTT data is under-sampled, it requires complicated algorithms to reconstruct vibration parameters.

New blade tip-timing system for measuring rotor blade vibration of steam and gas turbines [PDF]
One of the crucial issues regarding turbine maintenance is registering blade vibrations. These vibrations can cause serious damage to the engine. Turbine blade vibrations were measured during nominal speed as well as during run up and run down.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
