Spectroelectrochemical Determination of Förster Radii for Triplet‐Polaron Quenching in Phosphorescent Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Phosphorescent OLEDs suffer from efficiency roll‐off due to triplet‐polaron quenching (TPQ). This study demonstrates for a large set of host‐guest combinations a spectroelectrochemical method to measure the absorption of charged molecules, enabling determining TPQ Förster radii (2.5–4 nm) from the spectral overlap.

Optimization of Initial Blank Shape with a Variable Blank Holder Force in Deep-Drawing via Sequential Approximate Optimization

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2012
In this paper, the initial blank shape is optimized via sequential approximate optimization (SAO) with radial basis function (RBF) network. In deep drawing, the wrinkling and tearing are major defects.

Strategies to Design and Optimize Artificial Antigen‐Presenting Cells for T Cell Expansion in Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Optimization of initial blank shape for square cup deep drawing using variable blank holder force

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2014
In deep drawing, area above the trimmed line is called earing. Reduction of the earing in deep drawing is one of the major issues for cost reduction. In addition, a high BHF causes tearing while a low BHF leads to wrinkling.

Low‐Surface‐Energy Copper Promotes Atomic Diffusion and Ordering in PtFeCu Intermetallic Compounds for Oxygen Reduction Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A copper‐induced atom ordering strategy is developed for the reconstruction of raw commercial Pt catalyst into ordered PtFeCu intermetallic compounds for hydrogen fuel cells. Abstract Carbon‐supported platinum intermetallic compound nanoparticles are seen as the next‐generation cathodic catalysts for hydrogen fuel cells due to their high activity and ...
