Blanking by means of the finite element method [PDF]
This paper summarizes the results of simulating the blanking process by means\ud of the Finite Element Method. Unlike most of the research in this eld, the focus is not on the blanking process itself but on the deformed shape of a product after blanking.

Suppressing the Effect of Impulsive Noise on Millimeter-Wave Communications Systems [PDF]
The Fifth Generation (5G) wireless communication systems are expected to satisfy higher data rates, network scalability, increasing number of connections and higher traffic densities in a cost-effective manner. The key essence of 5G technology resides in

Effects of uncertainty on manual tracking performance [PDF]
Transient phenomena and target acquisition modes associated with interrupted observations during ground-to-air AA tracking were investigated. Using a two-axes control stick, the subjects tracked a computer-generated airplane image on a CRT display.

Learning phase transitions from dynamics [PDF]
We propose the use of recurrent neural networks for classifying phases of matter based on the dynamics of experimentally accessible observables. We demonstrate this approach by training recurrent networks on the magnetization traces of two distinct ...

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.

Metal parts undergo a blanking test that involves experimentation with different process parameters across multiple levels. The presence of uncontrolled burrs (measured as Hbv) significantly affects the precise geometry of the blanked parts, making it a ...

SmallTalk: a novel small‐sized fusion tag for peptide expression and purification
The SmallTalk fusion tag allows for the efficient expression and purification of soluble recombinant proteins or peptides in Escherichia coli. Testing with SmallTalk‐GFP confirmed that the proteins were soluble and folded correctly, while SmallTalk‐Bin1b maintained its antimicrobial activity against various bacterial isolates. This streamlined workflow
