Dentate Gyrus Engrams in Fear and Reward: Mechanistic Principles, Critical Gaps, and Paths to Translation

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 3, March 2026.
Memories of rewarding experiences powerfully shape behavior, yet when maladaptive, they can drive psychiatric conditions including addiction, depression, and PTSD. Memory traces, or engrams, have been extensively studied for fear memories in the hippocampal dentate gyrus.

Laminin 332 regulates glial fibrillary acidic protein expression and astrocyte maturation during spinal cord development

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 248, Issue 3, Page 478-489, March 2026.
Laminin 332 localizes to marginal zone of spinal cord on embryonic days 12 and 14 and acts through integrin pathways for astrocyte maturation. The present research suggested that laminin 332 may play an important role in the development of the white matter of the spinal cord.

Antimicrobial Resistance in Salmonella Across Aquaculture, Seafood and Related Aquatic Environments: A Scoping Review With Exploratory Textual Analysis

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 2, March 2026.
This scoping review with textual analysis maps antimicrobial resistance in Salmonella across aquaculture, seafood, and related aquatic environments. Across 93 studies, recurrent MDR patterns suggest sentinel serotypes (S. Typhimurium, S. Newport) and a minimal antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) panel to guide matrix‐stratified One Health ...

The pyrogenic mediator prostaglandin E2 elicits warmth seeking via EP3 receptor‐expressing parabrachial neurons: a potential mechanism of chills

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 5, Page 2110-2130, 1 March 2026.
Abstract figure legend During infection, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is produced and elicits warmth‐seeking behaviour and involuntary febrile responses by acting on prostaglandin EP3 receptors (EP3Rs) in two distinct brain sites. PGE2 acting on EP3Rs on neurons in the external lateral part of the lateral parabrachial nucleus (LPBel) augments cold sensory ...
