On the dimension of the boundaries of attracting basins of entire maps

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 112, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract Let f:C→C$f:\mathbb{C}\to \mathbb{C}$ be a transcendental entire map from the Eremenko–Lyubich class B$\mathcal {B}$, and let ζ$\zeta$ be an attracting periodic point of period p$p$. We prove that the boundaries of components of the attracting basin of (the orbit of) ζ$\zeta$ have hyperbolic (and, consequently, Hausdorff) dimension larger than

Conformal optimization of eigenvalues on surfaces with symmetries

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 112, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract Given a conformal action of a discrete group on a Riemann surface, we study the maximization of Laplace and Steklov eigenvalues within a conformal class, considering metrics invariant under the group action. We establish natural conditions for the existence and regularity of maximizers. Our method simplifies the previously known techniques for

Dual spaces of geodesic currents

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 18, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Every geodesic current on a hyperbolic surface has an associated dual space. If the current is a lamination, this dual embeds isometrically into a real tree. We show that, in general, the dual space is a Gromov hyperbolic metric tree‐graded space, and express its Gromov hyperbolicity constant in terms of the geodesic current.

Detection of Submerged Targets Beyond Eyes' Observation Using Satellite Lidar and Multispectral Data

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 21, 16 November 2025.
Abstract Detecting submerged targets in shallow waters from satellite platforms remains a challenge, as the optical spectral information of targets is significantly distorted by the absorption and scattering effects of the water column. In this study, we propose a new framework as the bathymetry‐informed target extraction, which integrates the ...

Poncelet curves

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 105, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract We examine pairs of closed plane curves that have the same closing property as two conic sections in Poncelet's porism. We show how the vertex curve can be computed for a given envelope and vice versa. Our formulas are universal in the sense that they produce all possible sufficiently regular pairs of such Poncelet curves. We arrive at similar
