Evaluating the Efficiency of Blast Furnaces and the Prospects of Blast-Furnace Smelting
Metallurgist, 2014The productivity of a blast furnace is determined by the gas permeability of the stock and the amount of gas formed for each ton of pig iron that is made, i.e., it is determined by the amount of fuel consumed and the oxygen content of the blast. The indices used to characterize the unit productivity of blast furnaces and the smelting rate inside them ...

Blast-furnace operation with wet blast
Steel in Translation, 2017Traditional wetting of the blast by steam does not ensure constant moisture content. The abrupt changes in moisture content undermine the stability of the lining and the metal framework of the air heaters. A method of moisture supply that eliminates condensation in the cold-blast line is required.

Predictive control of blast furnaces
TENCON '91. Region 10 International Conference on EC3-Energy, Computer, Communication and Control Systems, 2005A model based control strategy for a blast furnace is proposed. To implement this control strategy four submodels for the system (i) charge calculation model (ii) charge distribution model (iii) silicon prediction model and (iv) stove control model are required.

Blast-Furnace Melting Blast Control
2019 IEEE Russian Workshop on Power Engineering and Automation of Metallurgy Industry: Research & Practice (PEAMI), 2019The paper suggests an approach to the blast-furnace melting control for improving the blast furnace process efficiency. The approach is based on the simulation of the blast furnace operation and online stabilization of parameters based on the obtained mathematical models.
