Toxicity of Blastomyces dermatitidis

Mycopathologia et Mycologia Applicata, 1971
Following injections of the insoluble portion of disrupted yeast cells ofBlastomyces dermatitidis animals exhibited a biphasic pyrogenic response, a decrease in total serum proteins, and there was no release of interferon.

Studies with Blastomyces Dermatitidis

A.M.A. Archives of Dermatology, 1955
The inhibitory effect of prophenpyridamine (Trimeton) maleate * (1-phenyl-1-[2-pyridyl] - 3-dimethylaminopropane maleate) on the growth of Blastomyces dermatitidis induced us to investigate certain aspects of this phenomenon. In our previous experiments † we noticed a partial inhibition of B.

Extracellular enzymes of Blastomyces dermatitidis

Mycopathologia et Mycologia Applicata, 1969
Blastomyces dermatitidis was investigated for the presence of several extracellular enzymes. This pathogenic fungus was found to produce acid- and alkaline-phosphatases in both liquid and solid media when growing in the yeast phase (37° C), but little or none of these activities was associated with the mycelial phase (25° C). Under the growth and assay
