Resilin incidences in the insect cuticle are commonly detected by fluorescence microscopy using the property of Resilin protein matrices to emit blue light after excitation with UV light. This indirect method produces significant background signal.

Control failure risk, resistance and enzymatic activity of neurotoxic insecticides in Brazilian populations of Leucoptera coffeella (Lepidoptera: Lyonetiidae)

Bioassays of 36 Leucoptera coffeella populations revealed resistance to neurotoxic insecticides, control failures of ≤62.9% and enzyme activity variation, with particularly high GST and low AChE levels. Abstract Background Leucoptera coffeella is a key pest of coffee crops in Brazil, causing significant damage by mining coffee leaves.

Substrate Preference of Black Soldier Fly Larvae Is Influenced by Rearing History

BSF larvae were reared under six different conditions: low, medium, or high larval density and on low, medium, and high‐water feeds to investigate feed choice behaviour. Larvae reared under all six conditions preferred substrate colonised by conspecifics. Low‐water feed caused slower larval growth and development.

Differential Phoretic Vector Use Among Sympatric Caenorhabditis Nematodes and an Association With Invasive Nitidulid Beetles in Southwestern Germany

We show evidence for differential host use among the three sympatric Caenorhabditis, and a novel association with nitidulid beetles for C. apta sp. n. This information adds to our understanding of host invertebrate use across the Caenorhabditis phylogeny, highlighting potential evolutionary transitions in host use in need of further study.
