The Search for Neutrinos from TXS 0506+056 with the ANTARES Telescope [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
A high-energy neutrino, IC170922A, detected by the IceCube experiment was found to be positionally coincident with the direction of a known blazar, TXS 0506+056, observed in γ-rays and at other wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum.

On leptonic models for blazars in the Fermi era

open access: yes, 2011
Some questions raised by Fermi-LAT data about blazars are summarized, along with attempts at solutions within the context of leptonic models. These include both spectral and statistical questions, including the origin of the GeV breaks in low-synchrotron

Long‐term impacts of primary school scholarships: Evidence from Cambodia

open access: yesJournal of Policy Analysis and Management, Volume 43, Issue 1, Page 10-38, Winter 2024.
ABSTRACT This randomized trial investigates the long‐term effects of a primary school scholarship program in rural Cambodia. We estimate impacts—9 years after program inception—on educational attainment, cognitive skills, socio‐emotional outcomes, labor market outcomes, and well‐being.

H.E.S.S. Monitoring of PKS 2155-304 in 2015 and 2016

open access: yesGalaxies, 2019
PKS 2155-304 is one of the brightest blazar located in Southern Hemisphere, monitored with H.E.S.S. since the first light of the experiment. Here we report multiwavelength monitoring observations collected during the period of 2015–2016 with H.E.S.S ...

A Unified Model for Multiepoch Neutrino Events and Broadband Spectral Energy Distribution of TXS 0506+056

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The blazar TXS 0506+056 has been proposed as a high-energy neutrino emitter. However, it has been shown that the standard one-zone model cannot produce sufficiently high neutrino flux due to constraints from the X-ray data, implying more complex ...

Linkage between Accretion Disks and Blazars

open access: yes, 2007
The magnetic field in an accretion disk is estimated assuming that all of the angular momentum within prescribed accretion disk radii is removed by a jet.

Detection of a quasi-periodic oscillation in gamma-ray light curve of the high redshift blazar B2 1520+31

open access: yes, 2018
We detected a possible quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) of ~ 71 days in the 0.1 -- 300 GeV gamma-ray Fermi-LAT light curve of the high redshift flat spectrum radio quasar B2 1520+31.

Variability of Blazars and Blazar Models over 38 Years [PDF]

open access: yesGalaxies, 2016
Since 1978, when BL Lac objects and violently variable quasars were married to become “blazars”, physical interpretations of the phenomenon have evolved. Remarkably, though, the general picture of relativistic jets beaming their radiation in our direction, proposed that year by Blandford and Rees, remains intact.
