Abstract The world map is changing due to waves of immigration, population and demographic changes in mainland Europe and North America. There is a growing need for a more diverse teacher workforce to close the racial and ethnic gap between students and teachers in populations with high diversity.

Polarization Vector Rotations: Real, Spurious, Hidden and Imaginary
Large and variable polarization is an inherent property of a majority of blazars. Systematic rotations of the polarization vector have been claimed for several blazars. In some cases, however, the reality of these rotations may be questionable.

We propose a method for setting upper limits to the extragalactic background light (EBL). Our method uses simultaneous {\em Fermi}-LAT and ground-based TeV observations of blazars and is based on the assumption that the intrinsic spectral energy ...

Lessons from the apparent peculiar nature of the star TYC 6544‐3483‐1
Abstract We report a radio and optical study of the star TYC 6544‐3483‐1 originally selected as a follow‐up target in the course of our efforts to cross‐identify Galactic high‐energy sources. The star by itself finally turned out to be a very ordinary main‐sequence star despite the initial expectations that apparently pointed to the contrary.

The Spectral Energy Distribution of Fermi Bright Blazars [PDF]
We have conducted a detailed investigation of the broadband spectral properties of the γ-ray selected blazars of the Fermi LAT Bright AGN Sample (LBAS). By combining our accurately estimated Fermi γ-ray spectra with Swift, radio, infra-red, optical, and ...

A systematic search for cyclical sources of gamma-ray emission on the period range from days to years in the Fermi-LAT sky is performed. Looking for cyclical emission, the sky is binned into equal-area pixels and the generalised Lomb-Scargle periodogram ...

Variability of Blazars and Blazar Models over 38 Years [PDF]
Since 1978, when BL Lac objects and violently variable quasars were married to become “blazars”, physical interpretations of the phenomenon have evolved. Remarkably, though, the general picture of relativistic jets beaming their radiation in our direction, proposed that year by Blandford and Rees, remains intact.

Abstract This multisite qualitative case study explores ways in which instructional coaching focused on English language development (content) and teachers' individual beliefs (process) can help general education and dual language bilingual education elementary teachers work within and through perceived institutional barriers to improve their language ...

Exploring γ-Ray Flares from High-Redshift Blazar B3 1343+451 at GeV Energies
We study the temporal and spectral variability properties of the high-redshift blazar B3 1343+451 utilizing Fermi-LAT data from 2008 to 2022 in the energy range of 0.1–300 GeV.
