Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus

Archives of Dermatology, 1961
Because of the appearance and consistency of the lesions, Bean 2 has given the name blue rubber bleb nevus to a variant of hemangioma probably first described by Gascoyen. 6 Although a century has elapsed since the original article appeared, the disorder is still not well recognized.

Remodeling an Avascular Bleb

Journal of Glaucoma, 2019
Large avascular blebs need to be repaired especially if they are associated with leaks or have had episodes of bleb-related infections. Delayed Filtering Bleb Encapsulation

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1992
ABSTRACT Encapsulated filtering blebs concomitant with increased intraocular pressure (IOP) developed 47 and 6 months, respectively, after surgery in two women, 46 and 60 years old, respectively, who had undergone trabeculectomy operations in one eye. Encysted Bleb

2013
The formation of a true pathologic encysted bleb is characterized by intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation that generally starts around 6 weeks postoperatively. An encysted bleb has lost the ability to adequately reduce IOP in the presence of a patent tube, implying that aqueous permeability of the bleb wall has decreased (Figure 36.1).

Dysesthetic Blebs
