NCOA4 Accelerates Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Formation by Regulating Macrophage Activation and Ferroptosis via STAT1–CH25H Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under pathological stimulation, NCOA4 in macrophages interacts with STAT1 to promote CH25H transcription. The subsequent increase in 25‐HC production activates macrophages, triggers inflammatory responses and ferroptosis, and accelerates the progression of AAA.

scH16S‐Seq Maps Klebsiella pneumoniae‐Associated Myeloid States and Reveals a CD38–NAD Immunometabolic Axis That Impairs Lysosomal Acidification in Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell host–bacterial 16S co‐sequencing (scH16S‐seq) integrates cell‐associated bacterial 16S‐derived signals with host transcriptomes to resolve bacterial signal‐enriched myeloid states in Klebsiella pneumoniae sepsis. Complementary pharmacological and genetic analyses define a CD38–NAD immunometabolic axis connecting mitochondrial bioenergetic ...

Prognostic Impact of Circumferential Resection Margin in Minimally Invasive Surgery for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer: A Multicenter Prospective Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This multicenter prospective study provides the first Japanese evidence that circumferential resection margin positivity after minimally invasive surgery is associated with poorer long‐term outcomes in locally advanced rectal cancer. As the cohort predominantly included patients treated with upfront surgery, these findings provide important evidence to

Minimally Invasive Versus Open Total and Distal Gastrectomy After Chemotherapy for Gastric Cancer: A Nationwide Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
This nationwide observational study used data from the National Clinical Database. Patients who underwent total or distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer after chemotherapy between January 2014 and December 2022 were included. Minimally invasive surgery was associated with lower incidences of overall postoperative complications of Clavien–Dindo grade ...
