Blind Multiuser Detection: FromMOE to Subspace Methods

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2004
The minimum output energy (MOE) multiuser receiver has been shown to approach the minimum mean-square-error (MMSE) receiver at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). However, performance degradation is incurred by noise induced channel estimation error. In this paper, we propose a Power of R (POR) technique to significantly improve the performance of the ...

Blind multiuser detection for MC-CDMA systems

Conference Record of the Thirty-Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2002., 2003
This paper deals with blind multiuser detection for asynchronous multicarrier code-division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) systems. A two-stage linear multiuser detector is proposed, where the first stage performs preliminary disturbance mitigation, allowing thus the second stage, based on the constant modulus algorithm (CMA), to operate with nearly ...

Group-blind multiuser detection for uplink CDMA

1999 IEEE 49th Vehicular Technology Conference (Cat. No.99CH36363), 1999
Previously developed blind techniques for multiuser detection in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems lead to several near-far resistant adaptive receivers for demodulating a given user's data with the prior knowledge of only the spreading sequence of that user.

Blind multiuser detection based on chebyshev approximation

Proceedings 7th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2004. Proceedings. ICSP '04. 2004., 2005
Blind multiuser detection, an effective method to mitigate multiple access interference (MAI) in direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) systems, has inspired a significant interest recently. Although the previously published algorithms such as recursive least-squares (RLS) work fairly well, the performance can be further improved.

Blind Multiuser Detection Based on Tikhonov Regularization

IEEE Communications Letters, 2011
In code-division multiple-access (CDMA) system, ill-conditioning of the covariance matrix of the received signal may degrade the performance of minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) detector, especially when signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is high and small data sets are available for covariance matrix estimation.

Blind Multiuser Detection for Ultra Wideband System

2009 Third International Conference on Genetic and Evolutionary Computing, 2009
Based on the CMA, a proved blind multiuser detection, which combined with the multistage wiener filter(MSWF) for UWB systems in a realistic indoor channel is proposed in this paper. This new algorithm had a low computational complexity without the computation of matrix inverse.

Independent component analysis for blind multiuser detections

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (Cat. No.00CH37060), 2002
We apply a novel signal processing method based on independent component analysis (ICA) to blind multiuser receivers. ICA is well suited for blind multiuser detection problems as the criterion used to separate signals is a mutual information minimization principle which attempts to separate independent signals from mixed signals.

Adaptive blind multiuser detection in asynchronous CDMA

IEEE VTS 53rd Vehicular Technology Conference, Spring 2001. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37202), 2002
This paper applies blind source separation (BSS) to the design of an adaptive blind multiuser detector for an asynchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) system. Our starting hypotheses are the spreading factor and the number of users transmitting in the system.

Group-blind multiuser detection for UTRA-TDD

IEEE VTS 53rd Vehicular Technology Conference, Spring 2001. Proceedings (Cat. No.01CH37202), 2002
Due to the asymmetric allocation of uplink and downlink time slots in Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio Access Time Division Duplex (UTRA-TDD), the performance of mobile stations can be degraded seriously by inter-cell interference. We propose the group-blind hybrid multiuser detector for UTRA-TDD, which can reduce intra-cell

Blind Multiuser Detection Based on Power Estimation

IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005
Although the multiuser detection scheme based on Kalman filtering (K-MUD) proposed by Zhang and Wei, is referred to as a blind algorithm, in fact it is not really blind because it is conditioned on perfect knowledge of system parameter, power of the desired user.
