A Blind Structure Prediction of Ice XIV
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2006Evidence points to several hydrogen ordered ice phases of ice XII that exhibit topologically distinct hydrogen networks from one another and which are formed under kinetically controlled conditions.

Blind prediction-based wavelet watermarking
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2016In recent years, wavelet transform has been widely applied in multimedia signal processing and digital watermarking is involved for ensuring security. This study presents a blind wavelet-based watermarking incorporated with the Human Visual System (HVS), which embeds watermarks into detail-subband coefficients.

Widely Linear Prediction for Blind Equalization
2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007This paper proposes a new blind equalization scheme based on widely linear (WL) prediction. It permits to compensate non-minimum phase channels with or without spectral nulls, since the received signal can be interpreted as a convolution of a real-valued data sequence and a complex baseband channel.

A fast-converging blind predictive DFE
ICC 2001. IEEE International Conference on Communications. Conference Record (Cat. No.01CH37240), 2002Blind equalization, which refers to the technique by which an unknown dispersive channel is equalized without the aid of a training sequence, has generated a lot of interest in previous years. However, blind equalizers are notorious for the slow convergence of their filter coefficients to the optimal values, which has prompted a flurry of activity into

The SAMPL2 blind prediction challenge: introduction and overview
Journal of Computer-Aided Molecular Design, 2010The interactions between a molecule and the aqueous environment underpin any process that occurs in solution, from simple chemical reactions to protein-ligand binding to protein aggregation. Fundamental measures of the interaction between molecule and aqueous phase, such as the transfer energy between gas phase and water or the energetic difference ...

Blind Picture Upscaling Ratio Prediction
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2016Natural scene statistics are well studied in the context of picture quality assessment and have been used in a wide variety of top-performing picture quality prediction models. Upscaling artifacts have been measured with regards to quality impairment using these kinds of models.

Autonomous predictive driving for blind intersections
2017 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), 2017This paper presents a model for safe driving at blind intersections and its integration to a local planner based on a Frenet frame. The model predicts potential moving obstacles from blind intersections to proactively slow down to avoid potential collisions. The derivation of the model is described and its parameters are detailed.

Blind Separation of Images using Temporal Predictability
2007 IEEE 15th Signal Processing and Communications Applications, 2007In this study, the linear and kernelized temporal predictability methods which have been used to separate audio mixtures have been applied to blind source separation of linear and nonlinear image mixtures and the statistical performance of the algorithms have been simulated using different algorithm parameters like kernel degree, kernel type, image ...

Blind Image Quality Prediction for Object Detection
2019 IEEE Conference on Multimedia Information Processing and Retrieval (MIPR), 2019Automatic video data analysis tools have become indispensable components in today's imaging applications. The accuracy of automatic analysis methods relies on the quality of images or videos that are processed. It is therefore essential to introduce objective metrics for predicting the quality of images as evaluated by automatic analysis algorithms ...
