Noninvasive measurement of eye retraction during blinking [PDF]
We present a noninvasive technique for high-speed measuring of eye retraction and eyelid position during blinking. The anterior chamber of the eye is illuminated by the slit lamp of a biomicroscope and eye dynamics during a blinking sequence are captured

Monoallelic POLR3A Variants Cause Early‐Onset Peripheral Neuropathy
Objective Biallelic variants in genes encoding the RNA polymerase III complex (Pol III) cause a spectrum of neurological disorders primarily affecting the central nervous system. Monoallelic variants have been reported in the POLR3B subunit only, associated with neurodevelopmental disorder, epilepsy, and peripheral neuropathy.

Half-Blind to the Risk of Predation
Blinking serves several functions in animals, but it comes at the cost of intermittent blindness. Blinking can occur spontaneously, but it is commonly associated with head movements.

Capsaicin effects on blinking Efectos de la capsaicina en el parpadeo
Blinking is a normal human phenomenom involving trigeminal and facial patways. To gain understanding on the neurobiology of blinking, five normal subjects were investigated before and after application of transdermal capsaicin at the forehead for two ...

afterword – or, in the blink of …
When we began, we attempted to open the dossier of seeing. Not just in the epis-temological sense of what it means to see, or the hermeneutical sense of the meaning of what is seen but, more pertinently, the question what is seeing. And when we say we, one has to keep in mind the fact that this is a collaborative thinking; a thinking that was only pos ...

Room temperature excitation spectroscopy of single quantum dots
We report a single molecule detection scheme to investigate excitation spectra of single emitters at room temperature. We demonstrate the potential of single emitter photoluminescence excitation spectroscopy by recording excitation spectra of single CdSe
