Assessing Hand Function Post‐Burn: A Systematic Review of Surgical vs. Enzymatic Debridement Using DASH/Quick‐DASH and MHQ Questionnaires

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Hand burns, although often limited in surface area, have a major impact on function and quality of life. Debridement—surgical or enzymatic—is a key component of treatment, with enzymatic debridement increasingly used for its selectivity and potential to preserve viable dermis.

The Ambiguous Ecologies of Agri‐Alternatives: Exploring the Calculus of Social Reproduction in Rural India

open access: yesJournal of Agrarian Change, Volume 26, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper advances scholarship on agri‐alternatives by probing the gap between romanticised narratives of how alternative farming transitions ought to be and the actual practices farmers enact in their fields. Focusing on moments when such alternatives encounter on‐the‐ground realities, we propose ambiguous ecologies as a lens to explore the ...

Augmenting the Endogenous RBM3 Response Protects Against Burn‐Induced Acute Kidney Injury by Enhancing Macrophage‐Mediated Resolution of Inflammation

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
This study reveals that augmenting the RNA‐binding protein RBM3 ameliorates burn‐induced acute kidney injury (AKI). RBM3 overexpression reprograms pro‐inflammatory M1 macrophages toward a pro‐resolving M2 phenotype, enhancing their capacity for efferocytosis.

Clonal Stabilization Reveals a DAO/3MST‐Expressing MDCK Subpopulation With Robust d‐Cysteine‐Mediated H2S Production

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
A subpopulation of MDCK (NBL‐2) cells, an epithelial cell line derived from the normal kidney, expresses DAO and 3MST. The DAO/3MST‐expressing cells are progressively eliminated during passaging; however, clonal isolation enables the establishment of sublines that maintain stable H2S production. Clonal cells co‐expressing DAO and 3MST therefore provide
