FRACTURE BLISTERS

Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, 1995
Fracture blisters can pose a problem when dealing with trauma. The potential to increase the complication rate, delay surgery, and prolong wound healing are possible sequelae. Edema has to be controlled, however, because the blisters can form in spite of ice, elevation, and compression. They may also appear even after prompt ORIF.

The Friction Blister

Military Medicine, 1972
Abstract : Friction blisters rank high as causes of military disability. Controlled studies show that: Friction blisters are not burns but are due to shearing forces within the epidermis. These produce a cleft into which fluid passes, provided there is a sufficient pressure gradient from blood vessels and tissue fluid; friction blister fluid contains ...

Friction Blisters

The Physician and Sportsmedicine, 1982
In brief Friction blisters are caused by excess frictional trauma to areas of the skin with a thick horny layer and a tight attachment to underlying structures. A moist and/or warm environment promotes blister formation. Blisters are treated by early aspiration of the fluid and by protecting the blister roof.

Blister

ACM SIGGRAPH 2005 Papers, 2005
By combining depth peeling with a linear formulation of a Boolean expression called Blist, the Blister algorithm renders an arbitrary CSG model of n primitives in at most k steps, where k is the number of depth-layers in the arrangement of the primitives. Each step starts by rendering each primitive to produce candidate surfels on the next depth-layer.

Blisters

2020
The chapter on skin blisters looks at the spectrum of differential causes from common infective agents including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and infestations to rarer genetic disorders including epidermolysis bullosa and incontinentia pigmenti. Autoimmune disorders, inflammatory conditions, drug-related causes, and physical and environmental aetiologies ...
