Bloch oscillations in free space?

Abstract The validity of the Bloch oscillation concept is considered. It is demonstrated that this type of motion is neither physically reasonable nor consistent with the correspondence principle. An exact solution to Schrodinger's equation for empty space is constructed to prove that periodic time-dependence does not result from interference effects

Inner Functions, Bloch Spaces and Symmetric Measures

In the main theorem of the paper under review, the authors construct an inner function \(I\) which, in a sense, decreases hyperbolic distances as much as desired for \(| z| \to1\). Then this theorem is applied to prove several results on composition operators, Zygmund functions and the existence of certain singular measures.
