Near-Hashing-Bound Multiple-Rate Quantum Turbo Short-Block Codes [PDF]
Quantum stabilizer codes (QSCs) suffer from a low quantum coding rate since they have to recover the quantum bits (qubits) in the face of both bit-flip and phase-flip errors. In this treatise, we conceive a low-complexity concatenated quantum turbo code (

Block turbo decoding with ORBGRAND [PDF]
Guessing Random Additive Noise Decoding (GRAND) is a family of universal decoding algorithms suitable for decoding any moderate redundancy code of any length. We establish that, through the use of list decoding, soft-input variants of GRAND can replace the Chase algorithm as the component decoder in the turbo decoding of product codes.

Irregular Vector Turbo Codes with low complexity [PDF]
The term Block Turbo Code typically refers to the iterative decoding of a serially concatenated two-dimensional systematic block code. This paper introduces a Vector Turbo Code that is irregular but with code rates comparable to those of a Block Turbo ...

Where to go from here? New cross layer techniques for LTE Turbo-Code decoding at high code rates [PDF]
The wide range of code rates and code block sizes supported by todays wireless communication standards, together with the requirement for a throughput in the order of Gbps, necessitates sophisticated and highly parallel channel decoder architectures ...

Information-Coupled Turbo Codes for LTE Systems [PDF]
We propose a new class of information-coupled (IC) Turbo codes to improve the transport block (TB) error rate performance for long-term evolution (LTE) systems, while keeping the hybrid automatic repeat request protocol and the Turbo decoder for each code block (CB) unchanged.

On the Error Statistics of Turbo Decoding for Hybrid Concatenated Codes Design [PDF]
In this paper we propose a model for the generation of error patterns at the output of a turbo decoder. One of the advantages of this model is that it can be used to generate the error sequence with little effort.

Application of syndrome based Turbo decoding with adaptive computational complexity in LTE downlink [PDF]
This paper describes the application of an adaptive complexity decoder for the Long Term Evolution (LTE) downlink Turbo code. The proposed decoding approach is based on the block syndrome decoding principle and enables adaptive reduction of decoding ...

Irregular Turbo Codes in Block-Fading Channels [PDF]
We study irregular binary turbo codes over non-ergodic block-fading channels. We first propose an extension of channel multiplexers initially designed for regular turbo codes. We then show that, using these multiplexers, irregular turbo codes that exhibit a small decoding threshold over the ergodic Gaussian-noise channel perform very close to the ...
