Turbo Codes Performance Optimization over Block Fading Channels

In this paper, the best achievable performance of a turbo coded system on a block fading channel is obtained, assuming binary antipodal modulation. A rate 1/3 turbo code is considered, obtained by concatenating, through a random interleaver, an 8-states rate 1/2 and a rate 1 convolutional codes (CC).

The DNA/RNA autophagy protein SIDT2 as a novel neuropathological hallmark in Huntington disease

SIDT2‐immunoreactive inclusions are observed in the striatum, cerebral cortex, and hypothalamus in HD cases with different Vonsattel grades, and the frequency of SIDT2‐immunoreactive inclusions is associated with longer CAG repeats in the huntingtin gene.

Inducible tomato defences persist in detached leaves, despite differential plant variety and gene‐dependent expression

Short‐ and long‐term expression of PPO‐D, PI‐IIc and PR‐1a were assessed in intact plants and detached tomato leaves of two varieties infested with Tetranhycus urticae. Tomato defences were induced in both intact and detached leaves, but the induction levels varied with plant variety and gene assessed.

Steroidogenic compensation and lipid deficiency with enhanced NAD+ salvage in small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta

Fetal growth restriction is associated with placental metabolic adaptations. In small‐for‐gestational‐age placenta (SGA), cholesterol receptors and steroidogenic enzymes are upregulated, enhancing steroidogenesis. NAD salvage pathway is also increased to support NADP+/NADPH requirements.
