Spectral Statistics of Acoustic Resonances in Aluminum Blocks

Physical Review Letters, 1995
We measure several hundred acoustic resonances in aluminum blocks. The statistical properties of these spectra are analyzed and compared to predictions from random matrix theory. A Poisson behavior is found for a rectangular block. The transition from Poisson to Gaussian orthogonal ensemble statistics is studied by measuring aluminum blocks ...

Statistical analysis on KATAN Block Cipher

2011 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems, 2011
In this research, we present the analysis on Lightweight Block Cipher; KATAN. This block cipher consists of three algorithms with block sizes of 32/48/64-bit and utilizes an 80-bit key. NIST Statistical Test Suite is used to determine the randomness of output sequence produced by all algorithms.

Linkage Disequilibrium Statistics and Block Visualization

2022
Linkage disequilibrium analysis enables researchers to interrogate the genome for patterns of coinheritance between genetic markers. Visualizing these patterns, and the characteristic haplotype "blocks" of linked variants can be challenging; however, advancements are being made through the development of bioinformatics software.

On the statistics of block errors in bursty channels

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1997
In the development of encoding algorithms for image, video, and other mixed media transmissions, it is important to note that the channel "seen" by the applications is the physical channel as modified by the error-correcting mechanisms used at the physical level.

Statistical thermodynamics of block copolymers: Network statistics

Journal of Macromolecular Science, Part B, 1980
Abstract The swelling behavior of a lamellar domain system of an ABA block copolymer is treated, with account taken of the relative population of the B chains as “loops” and “bridges.” The swelling behavior is not a sensitive function of these configurations, since both types in condensed systems are elastically effective, in contrast to the behavior ...

Statistical block-based skin detection

2010 5th International Symposium On I/V Communications and Mobile Network, 2010
In this paper, we propose a novel approach to model the human skin color. The underlying approach involves affecting a block's average value at each pixel location, using its surrounding points. The generated skin data are found to follow a generalized Gaussian distribution (GGD) and a mixture of GGDs in the H and S color component, respectively. Next,

Statistical Analysis of Tandem Queues with Blocking

Calcutta Statistical Association Bulletin, 2012
Abtsrcat A maximum likelihood estimator (MLE), a consistent asymp- totically normal (CAN) estimator and asymptotic condence limits for the expected number of entities in the system (LS) in a two service point tandem queue with at most one entity in between the service points and busy service point 1 are obtained.

A statistical analysis of atrial arrhythmia in A-V block

Journal of Electrocardiology, 1971
Summary In complete A-V block a type of arrhythmia occurs in which atrial cycle length or instantaneous rate is a function of the presence and position of a ventricular QRS complex within that cycle. The immediately following atrial cycle without QRS is invariably longer than the preceding atrial cycle.

General Block Designs and Their Statistical Properties

2000
According to one of the basic principles of experimental design, the randomiza-tion principle (see Section 1.1), the experimental units (plots) are to be random-ized before they enter the experiment. Suppose that to apply a general block design, in the sense of Section 2.2, randomization is performed as described by Nelder (1954), i.e., by randomly ...

Statistical versus block fluoropolymers in gene delivery

Journal of Materials Chemistry B, 2018
A statistical fluorocopolymer shows dramatically higher transfection efficiency in gene delivery than a block one.
