Construction of machine learning diagnostic models for cardiovascular pan-disease based on blood routine and biochemical detection data

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology
Background Cardiovascular disease, also known as circulation system disease, remains the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Traditional methods for diagnosing cardiovascular disease are often expensive and time-consuming.

Effect of Size on Magnetic Polyelectrolyte Microcapsules Behavior: Biodistribution, Circulation Time, Interactions with Blood Cells and Immune System

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2021
Drug carriers based on polyelectrolyte microcapsules remotely controlled with an external magnetic field are a promising drug delivery system. However, the influence of capsule parameters on microcapsules’ behavior in vivo is still ambiguous and requires

Circulation Time, Blood Reserves and Extracellular Space in a Cephalopod [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Biology, 1984
ABSTRACT Octopus vulgaris Cuvier has a fully enclosed blood system that includes large blood sinuses behind the eyes and around the gut. Experiments on the response of the hearts in exercise and hypoxic stress (Wells, 1979; Wells & Wells, 1983) and the response of the system to drugs or extracts from neurosecretory systems that ...

The effect of pegbovigrastim on circulating neutrophil count in dairy cattle : a randomized controlled trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Previous research in various species has shown that granulocyte-colony stimulating factor stimulates the production and release of neutrophils from bone marrow.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Color-coded circulation for visualizing swirling flow with a 3-dimensional helical stent in the superficial femoral artery

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports
Color-coded circulation is a display method that generates dynamic color-coded images based on the time of arrival of contrast agents using parametric imaging to create video displays.

Vascular Dynamics of Cerebral Gliomas Investigated with Selective Catheter Angiography, Perfusion CT and MRI [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose:: To assess if intratumoral blood circulation parameters from dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) MRI and dynamic CT deliver comparable results and to compare tumor-related changes in regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) and regional cerebral ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Influence of ischemic preconditioning in myocardial protection in patients undergoing myocardial revascularization with intermittent crossclamping of the aorta. Analysis of ions and blood gases

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2001
OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that short periods of ischemia may increase the myocardial protection obtained with intermittent crossclamping of the aorta. METHODS: In the control group (18 patients), surgery was performed with systemic hypothermia at
