MHD Pulsatile Two-Phase Blood Flow Through a Stenosed Artery with Heat and Mass Transfer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In this paper, effects of heat and mass transfer on two-phase pulsatile blood flow through a narrowed stenosed artery with radiation and the chemical reaction have been investigated. A vertical artery is assumed in which magnetic field is applied along the radial direction of the artery.

The Effect Of Hand Exercise On Grip Strength, Forearm Circumference, Diameter Of Vein, Blood Flow Volume And Velocity In Patient Who Underwent Arteriovenous Fistula Surgery And On Routine Haemodialysis

open access: yesSurabaya Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Journal, 2019
Background: The arteriovenous fistula (AVF) is considered the gold standard for haemodialysis access. The fistula needs time to be mature and functional. Maturation process respond to increases in blood flow. Exercise stimulates vascular response as such

Hierarchically Engineered Triple‐Defensive Antifouling Coating with Well‐Regulated Structure for Enhanced Wastewater Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by shark skin, which has a hydrophilic “denticle layer” and a low surface energy “mucus layer,” a triple‐defense antifouling coating is developed. This coating features a robust hydrophilic catalytic nanoparticle layer overlaid with dispersed hydrophobic perfluoro‐silane domains, optimizing fouling resistance, release, and degradation for ...

Blood Flow Velocity in a Patient with Takayasu's Arteritis

open access: yesJapanese Heart Journal, 1972
Blood flow velocity was recorded by using Doppler transcutaneous flowmeter and Doppler catheter flowmeter in an 18-year-old woman with Takayasu's arteritis. Although no right radial artery pulse was felt by palpation, significant decrease and slow rise of the peak blood flow velocity, and inconspicuous dicrotic notch was observed and recorded from the ...
