Successful Desensitization with Imlifidase and Daratumumab in a Highly Immunized, Crossmatch Positive, Blood Group-Incompatible Living-Donor Re-Transplant Recipient with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Antiphospholipid Syndrome

open access: yesTransfusion Medicine and Hemotherapy
<b><i>Introduction:</i></b> The transplantation of highly sensitized patients remains a major obstacle. Immunized patients wait longer for a transplant if not prioritized, and if transplanted, their transplant outcome is worse.

Improved bilirubin reduction with therapeutic plasma exchange and haemoperfusion in a dog with immune‐mediated haemolytic anaemia

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 6‐year‐old spayed female Golden Retriever mix was diagnosed with immune‐mediated haemolytic anaemia. Initial treatments included immunosuppression and blood transfusions. With acute mentation decline and rapid increase in serum bilirubin, therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) was initiated.

Understanding the consequences of being RhD immunized during pregnancy 10 years after introduction of targeted routine antenatal anti‐D prophylaxis: A retrospective nationwide cohort study

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 5, Page 887-895, May 2026.
In Finland, implementation of targeted routine antenatal anti‐D prophylaxis (RAADP) from 2014 to 2023 resulted in a 64% reduction in maternal anti‐D immunization and fewer cases of severe hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn requiring intrauterine transfusion, demonstrating the population‐level benefits of targeted national prophylaxis programs ...

Repeated injection of pooled frozen allogeneic umbilical cord blood mesenchymal stromal cells in 5 flat‐racing horses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, Volume 38, Issue 4, Page 183-194, April 2026.
Summary Background Tendinopathies in racehorses are challenging to treat, and restoring normal tendon composition remains elusive despite extensive research. Equine multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) have shown promise for tendon repair, and various sources of MSC have been described.

The Phenotype List String Grammar for Enhanced Protein and Antigen Reporting in the Immunogenetic Context

open access: yesHLA, Volume 107, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Standardised data representation is fundamental to the integrity, interoperability and reproducibility of immunogenetics and histocompatibility testing. While well‐established standards such as the genotype list (GL) String, histoimmunogenetics markup language (HML) and minimum information for reporting next‐generation sequence genotyping ...

Non‐Classical HLA and MIC Risk Score Is Associated With Acute Kidney Transplant Rejection Beyond Classical HLA Matching

open access: yesHLA, Volume 107, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Matching of HLA‐A, ‐B and ‐DRB1 is the gold standard in histocompatibility testing for kidney transplantation. A good HLA match reduces the risk of alloimmunisation, thereby decreasing the likelihood of graft failure and potentially enabling reduced immunosuppression therapy. However, the role of the non‐classical HLA and MIC genes is not well

Red blood cell ordering pattern following the introduction of a transfusion procedure based on haemoglobin concentration and anaemia symptoms: A retrospective study

open access: yesTransfusion Medicine, Volume 36, Issue 2, Page 133-141, April 2026.
Abstract Introduction Implementation of transfusion guidelines might be poor due to a lack of awareness and strong practice habits. The study aimed to evaluate the impact of a new guideline‐based, locally adjusted transfusion procedure on physicians' ordering patterns in a large academic medical centre.

Comparative study of Blood Crossmatching using Gel and Conventional Tube Technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Coombs cross-matching is used to detect the presence of alloantibodies in a cross matching procedure. These alloantibodies can cause hemolytic reaction in a transfused patient.
