BLOOD LIPIDS IN NORMALS

Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1971
Abstract.Lipid pattern has been studied in 207 (173 males and 34 females) healthy persons. Mean serum cholesterol and triglycerides were 202 and 61, 243 and 100, 256 and 93, 266 and 121, 273 and 109 mg/100 ml, respectively, in the age groups 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59 and 60–64.

Adrenaline and Blood Lipids

Nature, 1960
ADRENALINE has a powerful effect on carbohydrate metabolism. The effect of this hormone on nitrogen excretion has also been studied1. However, little is known about its effect on blood lipids. In the present work, adrenaline was administered in doses of 1 mgm. to normal individuals after a 14-hr. fasting period.

BLOOD LIPIDS IN XANTHOMA

Archives of Dermatology, 1934
In this report we shall record studies of the blood lipids in three cases of xanthoma tuberosum and in five cases of xanthoma palpebrarum or xanthelasma. This work was incited by the report of Schaaf and Werner 1 on the imbalance of the lipid constituents of the blood that they found in the aforementioned disorders.

Effects of silymarin supplementation on blood lipids: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of clinical trials

Phytotherapy Research, 2019
Dyslipidemia is a leading cause of endothelial dysfunction and cardiovascular disease. Several studies used silymarin as an herbal supplement in hyperlipidemic subjects. The aim of the present systematic review and meta‐analysis was to examine the effect

A flavonoid-based fluorescent probe enables the accurate quantification of human serum albumin by minimizing the interference from blood lipids.

Chemical Communications, 2019
We herein provide a simple design strategy to improve the sensing specificity towards human serum albumin by incorporating a nitrobenzene quencher into a traditional polarity-sensitive probe in responding to the interference from blood lipids.

Lipids in Blood Clotting

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1965
Although it has been known for many years that lipids and lipoproteins enhance the blood-coagulation process, research on the mechanism of this enhancement has only recently been prolific. This is mainly due to significant advances in lipid methodology since 1955, which have permitted a more detailed examination of the role of lipids in blood ...
