Accelerometric Method for Cuffless Continuous Blood Pressure Measurement [PDF]

open access: yesNoninvasive Accelerometric Approach for Cuffless Continuous Blood Pressure Measurement, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, vol. 70, pp. 1-9, 2021, Art no. 4008109, 2020
Pulse transit time (PTT) has been widely used for cuffless blood pressure (BP) measurement. But, it requires more than one cardiovascular signals involving more than one sensing device. In this paper, we propose a method for continuous cuffless blood pressure measurement with the help of left ventricular ejection time (LVET).

Hypertension in the elderly. Which are the blood pressure threshold values? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Managing blood pressure is often difficult in the elderly, not only because of comorbidities, but also due to vascular remodelling and the changes in the renal and endocrine physiology.

Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring versus office blood pressure measurement: Are there sex differences? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The accurate measurement of blood pressure (BP) is an important prerequisite for the reliable diagnosis and efficient management of hypertension and other medical conditions. Office Blood Pressure Measurement (OBP) is a technique performed in-office with the sphygmomanometer, while Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM) is a technique that ...

Application of Computational Physics: Blood Vessel Constrictions and Medical Infuses [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings 1587 (1), 3-6 (2014), 2013
Application of computation in many fields are growing fast in last two decades. Increasing on computation performance helps researchers to understand natural phenomena in many fields of science and technology including in life sciences. Computational fluid dynamic is one of numerical methods which is very popular used to describe those phenomena.

The cytoskeletal control of B cell receptor and integrin signaling in normal B cells and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

Development of a One Dollar Blood Pressure Monitor [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
BPClip is an ultra-low-cost cuffless blood pressure monitor. As a universal smartphone attachment, BPClip leverages the computational imaging power of smartphones to perform oscillometry based blood pressure measurements. This paper examines different design considerations in BPClip's development.

STAT3 expression is reduced in cardiac pericytes in HFpEF and its loss reduces cellular adhesion and induces pericyte senescence

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.
