Biophysical analysis of angiotensin II and amyloid‐β cross‐interaction in aggregation and membrane disruption

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Angiotensin II (AngII), a neuropeptide, interacts with amyloid‐β (Aβ), a key player in Alzheimer's disease. This study reveals that AngII reduces Aβ aggregation and membrane disruption in vitro. Biophysical assays and molecular modeling suggest AngII binds disordered Aβ forms, potentially modulating early amyloidogenic events and contributing to ...

Comparison of routine office blood pressure measurement versus standardized attended manually activated oscillometric office blood pressure measurement in patients with chronic kidney disease

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care
Context: Erroneous blood pressure measurement could lead to improper treatment and hence progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD). In routine clinical practice, there is poor adherence to the various steps to be followed during blood pressure ...

Determinants of Blood Pressure in navajo Adolescents

open access: yesAmerican Indian and Alaska Native Mental Health Research, 1990
Hypertension is becoming more common among Navajo people, especially among young men. In a group of 580 Navajo adolescents, we looked for factors associated with variations in blood pressure level. Using our criteria, 11.1% of adolescent males and 1.6% of females had an elevated screening blood pressure.

Types of hemodynamic response to orthostasis according to continuous blood pressure monitoring: a case series of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction

open access: yesРоссийский кардиологический журнал, 2021
Heart failure (HF) is associated with unfavorable outcomes and high health care costs. Determination of the hemodynamic response to orthostasis can be an additional tool in assessing the stability and compensation of HF patients. Active orthostatic test (

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.
