Amyloid β alters vascular CaV1.2 channel spatiotemporal properties

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Amyloid‐β1‐42 (Aβ1‐42) triggers a male‐specific signalling cascade influencing CaV1.2 spatiotemporal properties in cerebral vascular smooth muscle. The signalling pathway involves NADPH oxidase (NOX)‐derived reactive oxygen species (ROS) activation of protein kinase C (PKC). Aβ1‐42 can also activate protein kinase A (PKA).

A cascade model of dynamic cerebral autoregulation

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend This study examined a two‐component cascade model linking upstream dynamic cerebral autoregulation (dCA) with downstream microvascular function (MF) to explain how blood pressure oscillations influence cortical oxygenation. Transfer function analysis in the frequency domain was applied to quantify H1(f) (MAP→CBFV; dCA), H2(f ...

Anesthesia and Postoperative Pain Management in Hip Reconstructions in Children With Neurodevelopmental Conditions: A Proposal for a Peri‐ and Postoperative Pain Management Protocol

open access: yesPaediatric and Neonatal Pain, Volume 8, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Progressive hip displacement is a common problem in children with neurodevelopmental conditions, often leading to painful dislocation and impaired function. Hip reconstruction may be necessary to maintain containment but these reconstructions are major surgery in this vulnerable population.

Glycaemic Control, Blood Pressure and Lifestyle Behaviours in Relation to Sarcopenia Among Older Adults in Korea: A Population‐Based Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesAustralasian Journal on Ageing, Volume 45, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective The aim of this study was to estimate the prevalence of sarcopenia and examine its associations with glycaemic control, blood pressure and lifestyle behaviours among older adults in Korea. Methods We conducted a secondary analysis of the 2023 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey that included 1394 adults aged 65 ...

A Remote Chronic Disease Management Program to Improve Cardiovascular and Metabolic Outcomes in a Diverse Community‐Based Diabetic Population: Study Design of the TAMIS Trial

open access: yesJournal of Evaluation in Clinical Practice, Volume 32, Issue 4, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are projected to expand in the coming decades as the main cause of death. This study outlines the escalating burden of cardiovascular diseases in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs), particularly in Latin America (LA), which is expected to surpass that of other high‐population ...
