A perspective on protein profiling of blood

BJU International, 2005
Protein profiling of blood is going to lead to huge changes in the development of biomarkers and perhaps also in producing targets for the medical treatment of cancer. Experts in this field from Los Angeles have written an outstanding mini‐review about this topic.

CAPILLARY-BLOOD COAGULATION PROFILE IN THE NEWBORN

The Lancet, 1973
Abstract A capillary-blood micromethod has been developed to allow serial screening of newborn infants for coagulation defects. The resulting coagulation profile, consisting of 6 tests done daily or twice daily, has revealed an abnormality in 71% of sixty-three infants admitted to a specialcare unit.

Blood metabolite profiles of broodmares and foals

Equine Veterinary Journal, 1984
Summary Serum amino acid profiles and other serum characteristics of broodmares and their foals were studied. Compared with mares, foals had significantly higher concentrations of serum leucine, threonine, aspartic acid, asparagine, glutamic acid, glutamine, proline and tyrosine, glucose, cholesterol, creatinine and phosphorus.

Fourier Analysis of Blood Pressure Profiles

American Journal of Hypertension, 1993
This short review deals with the use of the Fourier technique to analyze diurnal blood pressure (BP) profiles obtained by noninvasive ambulatory monitoring. A Fourier series with four harmonics strikes an acceptable balance between the accuracy and complexity required to model the diurnal profile accurately in most subjects. A weighting procedure makes

Metabolite Profiling in Blood Plasma

2006
Metabolite profiling has been established as a multiparallel strategy for relative quantification of a mixture of compounds or compound classes using chromatography and universal detection technologies (gas chromatography-mass spectrometry [GC-MS], liquid chromatography-MS).

Blood pressure profile in Nigerian children

East African Medical Journal, 2009
To observe blood pressure (BP) pattern and its correlates in primary school children of northern Nigeria.Sitting BP and pulse were measured in quadruplicate, then repeated after four weeks in 1,721 healthy children aged five to 16 years. Body weight and height were also measured in their school environment.Primary schools located in three communities ...

Metabolic profiles of cow's blood; a review

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2016
AbstractThe term ‘metabolic profile’ refers to the analysis of blood biochemical parameters that are useful to assess and prevent metabolic and nutritional disorders in dairy herds. In the higher standards of milk production, the priority in modern breeding is keeping dairy cows in high lactation and healthy. The proper analysis, as well as control. of

Blood Testing in Sport: Hematological Profiling

International Journal of Sports Medicine, 2010
Hemoglobin concentration and percent reticulocytes (%retics) were analyzed in blood samples taken pre-competition, post-competition, and during out of competition testing in elite speed skaters. Percent reticulocytes during screening was not different from the values obtained post-race, and no significant gender difference was found.
