On the Transport of Vanadium in Blood Serum
Inorganic Chemistry, 2009The complexation of the VO(2+) ion in several systems that can model the physiological conditions of its transport in blood serum was studied using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. Particularly, the ternary systems formed by (i) VO(2+) and two high-molecular-mass components of blood serum, human serum apo-transferrin (hTf) and human ...

SERUM TRANSFERRIN IN CORD BLOOD AND MATERNAL BLOOD
BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1973SummaryThe concentration of transferrin was measured in the blood of mothers during parturition and in the cord blood of their infants at delivery. The mean serum transferrin level in maternal blood was 361 mg./100 ml. (±71), that in cord blood was 179 mg./l00ml. (±32).

Cadmium transport in blood serum
Toxicology and Industrial Health, 2010The binding of Cd 2+ to human serum transferrin in 0.1 M N-(2-hydroxyethyl) piperazine-N ′ -2-ethanesulfonic acid and 5 mM sodium bicarbonate at pH 7.4 has been studied by difference ultraviolet spectrophotometry. The apparent association constants were

Hexachlorocyclohexanes in human blood serum
Journal of Chromatography A, 1997A simplified method allowing the determination of trace concentrations (ng/ml) of hexachlorocyclohexanes in human sera suitable for the analysis of large numbers of samples has been developed. Comparison of acid (conc. H2SO4,) and basic (5 M KOH) digestion has shown that good recoveries are obtained with the former when an internal standard, 1,2,4,5 ...

Abstract The blood serum proteins of the two principal Antarctic penguins, the Adelie penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae) and the Emperor penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri), have been studied. Comparative studies were made with the domestic chicken (Gallus gallus), man, and another species of penguin, the Humboldt penguin (Spheniscus humboldti).

Determination of glycerides in blood serum
Clinica Chimica Acta, 1959Abstract A method has been presented for the estimation of the serum glycerides. The basic principle is the determination of the glycerol part of the glycerides after separation of the phospholipids on silicic acid. The method is discussed and compared with earlier methods for the estimation of the glycerides in blood serum.
