Endoscopic En-Bloc Resection of Intra-Muscular Lipoma of the Flexor Digitorum Profundus: A Uniportal Technique. [PDF]

open access: yesArthrosc Tech, 2023
Abstract Deep‐seated lipomas can be intramuscular, intermuscular, and rarely, parosteal lipomas. Intramuscular lipoma can be divided into infiltrative, well‐circumscribed, and mixed types. Marginal excision is the treatment of choice for well‐circumscribed intramuscular lipoma, and histopathology eliminates diagnosis of well‐differentiated liposarcoma.

High satisfaction and functional improvement following robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty: A Latin American cohort study. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Exp Orthop
Abstract Purpose Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a widely performed surgical procedure for patients with severe knee osteoarthritis, aiming to reduce pain, improve function, and enhance quality of life. Patient satisfaction following TKA typically ranges from 85% to 90%, with factors such as malalignment and postoperative instability being common ...

Photothermal-Responsive Soluble Microneedle Patches for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction Therapy. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
This study provides a soluble microneedles (MN) patch that facilitates the transdermal release of rosiglitazone in response to near‐infrared ray induced temperature changes. The MN shows therapeutic efficiency for meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) in high‐fat mice.

Analysis of the experimental absorption spectrum of the rabbit lung and identification of its components. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Biophotonics
The broadband absorption coefficient spectrum of the rabbit lung was reconstructed from the absorption spectra of tissue components. The similar accumulation of melanin and lipofuscin was retrieved from the broadband baseline in the absorption coefficient spectrum, and the calculation of the absorption fold ratios for proteins, DNA and hemoglobin ...

Election, Favoritism, and Freedom: Towards a Modern Jewish Theology of Matrilineal Descent

open access: yesModern Theology, Volume 39, Issue 4, Page 775-795, October 2023., 2023
Abstract This article offers an account of the broad theological contours of the Jewish practice of matrilineal descent. I make the case that matrilineality epitomizes God's contingent preference in favoring and electing Israel. I link Mara Benjamin's recent work to recuperate asymmetrical power relations for feminist theology to the asymmetrical ...

Acetaminophen impairs ferroptosis in the hippocampus of septic mice by regulating glutathione peroxidase 4 and ferroptosis suppressor protein 1 pathways

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
Neuronal ferroptosis is a major cause of cognitive impairment and mortality in sepsis‐associated encephalopathy (SAE). In septic mice, a little dosage of acetaminophen (APAP) can prevent hippocampus tissue ferroptosis, however the mechanism is unknown.

The dynamic changes in autophagy activity and its role in lung injury after deep hypothermic circulatory arrest

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 26, Issue 4, Page 1113-1127, February 2022., 2022
Abstract Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest (DHCA) can cause acute lung injury (ALI), and its pathogenesis mimics ischaemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Autophagy is also involved in lung I/R injury. The present study aimed to elucidate whether DHCA induces natural autophagy activation and its role in DHCA‐mediated lung injury.

Polysaccharides from Garlic Protect against Liver Injury in DSS‐Induced Inflammatory Bowel Disease of Mice via Suppressing Pyroptosis and Oxidative Damage

open access: yesOxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a widespread intestinal disease threatening human health, is commonly accompanied by secondary liver injury (SLI). Pyroptosis and oxidative stress act as an important role underlying the pathophysiology of SLI, during which a large number of proinflammatory cytokines and oxidative intermediates can be produced, thereby
