Control of Monilinia blossom and twig blight (Monilinia laxa) by boron, pyroligneous acid and boscalid

open access: yesJournal of Plant Pathology, 2023
Monilinia laxa is one of the most destructive fungal pathogens causing brown rot, blossom blight and spur infection on stone fruits such as peach, nectarine, apricot, cherry and plum. In 2019-2020 surveys, 30 orchards in the apricot and almond production areas of Malatya and Elaz & imath;g provinces of Turkey exhibited blossom and twig blight symptoms.

Characterization of three-dimensional spatial aggregation and association patterns of brown rot symptoms within intensively mapped sour cherry trees. [PDF]

open access: yesAnn Bot, 2011
Characterization of spatial patterns of plant disease can provide insights into important epidemiological processes such as sources of inoculum, mechanisms of dissemination, and reproductive strategies of the pathogen population.

Protecting Apricot Orchards with Rain Shelters Reduces Twig Blight Damage Caused by Monilinia spp. and Makes It Possible to Reduce Fungicide Use

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
Blossom and twig blight, caused by Monilinia spp., is the main disease in apricot trees. In this study, we installed transparent rain shelters in apricot orchards to study their influence on the modification of the microclimate at the level of the tree ...
