REMARKS ON THE BLOW-UP CRITERION FOR THE 3-D BOUSSINESQ EQUATIONS

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 1999
We consider the problem of blow-up of smooth solutions for the 3-D Boussinesq equations. Owing to the viscosity, we prove that the maximum norm of the gradient of vorticity controls the breakdown of the solutions; the scalar temperature function is shown to be irrelevant to the breakdown.

Local Existence and Blow-up Criterion of the Inhomogeneous Euler Equations

Journal of Mathematical Fluid Mechanics, 2003
Using Littlewood-Paley decomposition and elliptic estimates in critical Besov spaces, the authors obtain local in time existence and uniqueness results for solution of inhomogeneous incompressible Euler equations. They also derive a finite-time blow-up criterion for local solutions.

A Criterion for Blow-Up of Solutions to Semilinear Heat Equations

SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 1987
We prove that for the parabolic initial value problem $u_t = \Delta u + \delta f(u)$ there is a finite time blow-up of the solution, provided $\delta $ is greater than the upper bound to the spectrum of the steady state problem and $({f / {f'}})$ is concave. An upper bound of the blow-up time is given.

A Blow-Up Criterion for the Nonhomogeneous Incompressible Navier--Stokes Equations

SIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2006
Let $(\rho , u)$ be a strong or smooth solution of the nonhomogeneous incompressible Navier--Stokes equations in $(0, T^*) \times \Omega$, where $T^*$ is a finite positive time and $\Omega$ is a bounded domain in $\mathbf{R}^3$ with smooth boundary or the whole space $\mathbf{R}^3$.

Note on the blow-up criterion for generalized MHD equations

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
This work is a contribution on regularity criteria the 3D generalized MHD system. It is proved that if the solution has some logarithmically integrable property in homogeneous Besov spaces on [0, T], then the solution keeps smoothness up to time T.

Refined Blow-Up Criterion for the 3D Magnetohydrodynamics Equations

Applicable Analysis, 2013
In this paper, we prove a refined blow-up criterion for the 3D magnetohydrodynamics equations. With the help of the Littlewood–Paley decomposition, we show an Osgood type blow-up criterion in term of where denotes the Fourier localization operator ...
