Blow-Up Solution and Blow-Up Rate of Bose-Einstein Condensates with Rotational Term

open access: yes, 2016
In this thesis, we discuss the Gross Pitaevskii Equation (GPE) with harmonic potential and with an angular momentum rotational term in space R^2, which describes the model for Bose-Einstein Condensation.

Construction of a multi-soliton blow-up solution to the semilinear wave equation in one space dimension

open access: yes, 2013
International audienceWe consider the semilinear wave equation with power nonlinearity in one space dimension. Given a blow-up solution with a characteristic point, we refine the blow-up behavior first derived by Merle and Zaag.

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Analysis and simulation of radially symmetric solutions for free boundary problems with superlinear reaction term

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
This article concerns with the solution to a heat equation with a free boundary in n-dimensional space. By applying the energy inequality to the solutions that depend not only on the initial value but also on the dimension of space, we derive the ...

Blow-up to a $p$-Laplacian parabolic equation with a general nonlinear source

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mécanique
A $p$-Laplacian parabolic equation with a general nonlinear source term is considered. It is shown that the solution may blow up in finite time at positive initial energy.

Blow-up for Discrete Reaction-Diffusion Equations on Networks

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we discuss the conditions under which blow-up occurs for the solutions of reaction-diffusion equations on networks. The analysis of this class of problems includes the existence of blow-up in finite time and the determination of the blow ...

Concurrently Achieving 4.6 W/M2 and 120,000 Cyclability Enabled by Extendable Swing Arms in Rotational Triboelectric Nanogenerator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rotational energy harvesting device that successfully reconciles high power density with mechanical durability through a hybrid sliding‐and‐bouncing kinematic mechanism is reported. The success reported in our paper includes addressing a dilemma where enhanced electrical output comes at the cost of increased friction and wear, limiting the practical ...
