Intelligent Controller Design for a Blowdown Supersonic Wind Tunnel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Control and Automation, 2014
In this paper, first, the nonlinear mathematical model of special Blowdown Supersonic Wind Tunnel (BSWT) consisting of a set of ordinary differential and algebraic equations is developed in Matlab/Simulink software environment. At the second step, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is used for finding the optimum membership functions of the Fuzzy Logic

Pressure-Sensitive Paint Measurements on a Moving Store in the NRC 1.5 m Blowdown Wind Tunnel

open access: yes32nd AIAA Aerodynamic Measurement Technology and Ground Testing Conference, 2016
The pressure-sensitive paint technique (PSP) is used to measure the model surface pressures in wind tunnel testing. In the NRC 1.5 m blowdown wind tunnel, the testing time is limited between 10 to 100 sec, depending on the mass flow rate and the tunnel geometry (2D or 3D test section).

Supersonic blowdown wind tunnel control using ABC optimized PID controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aeronautics and Astronautics
Supersonic blowdown wind tunnels enable the testing of aircraft prototypes in the Mach 1.2 to 5 range, but these tunnels allow very limited test times due to their structure.

Dynamic responses and vibration control of the transmission tower-line system: a state-of-the-art review. [PDF]

open access: yesScientificWorldJournal, 2014
This paper presented an overview on the dynamic analysis and control of the transmission tower‐line system in the past forty years. The challenges and future developing trends in the dynamic analysis and mitigation of the transmission tower‐line system under dynamic excitations are also put forward.

Testing of calibration models in order to certify the overall reliability of the trisonic blowdown wind tunnel of VTI [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2010
It is strongly recommended that wind tunnel calibrations become a regular part of the operational cycle for any wind tunnel. They facilitate tunnel-totunnel data comparisons. Standard calibration model, representing a generic winged missile configuration,

Inviscid and viscous interactions in subsonic corner flows. [PDF]

open access: yesScientificWorldJournal, 2013
A flap can be used as a high‐lift device, in which a downward deflection results in a gain in lift at a given geometric angle of attack. To characterize the aerodynamic performance of a deflected surface in compressible flows, the present study examines a naturally developed turbulent boundary layer past the convex and concave corners.

Mode Switching in a Compressible Rectangular Cavity Flow

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
This study determines the mean and fluctuating pressures for flow through a rectangular shallow cavity (ratio between the length and the depth = 2.43, 4.43, and 6.14; ratio between the length and the width = 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0) at a Mach number of 0.64 in

Study on the Effect of Oxidative Jet and Vortex Structure in Fluidic Throat Combined with Thrust Vector Control

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
To examine the impact of oxidative jets on the thrust vector angle, secondary combustion efficiency, and combustion chamber pressure, inert gas (nitrogen) and pure oxygen are injected into the primary flow, which includes combustible components, at various locations in the divergence section and throat using different injection techniques.

Dusting Hole Film Cooling Heat Transfer on a Transonic Turbine Blade Tip

open access: yesInternational Journal of Rotating Machinery, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Investigated is a transonic turbine blade tip with a squealer rim and a squealer recess, with a single dusting film cooling hole contained within the leading edge region of the squealer recess. Data are provided for transonic flow conditions for a range of film cooling blowing ratios for two tip gap values, using a linear cascade, with no relative ...
