The effect of traditional handling, processing and storage methods on the quality of dried fish in small scale fisheries in Nigeria [PDF]
Most of the fish marketed throughout Nigeria are in either smoked or dried form. The technological requirement for other forms of preservation like chilling and freezing cannot be afforded by the small scale fisher folk.

Recent Developments in Sustainable Solubilization
We highlight several recent developments in sustainable solubilization. Particular attention is given to the use of bio‐based solvents derived from renewable resources, the strategic use of water as a solvent, and alternative, sustainable solubilizers such as hydrotropes.

Predicted survival curves from the accelerated failure time (AFT) model showing the probability that deer carcass weight remains above 30% of its initial value over time. Curves represent predictions at −1 SD, mean, and + 1 SD of each covariate (initial body weight, average air temperature, and duration until the first peak in internal carcass ...

Aromatic plants, nest bacterial diversity, and nestling condition in Corsican blue tits
According to the ‘nest protection hypothesis', some passerines incorporate fresh aromatic plants into their nests which reduce pathogens that can negatively affect nestlings. We experimentally evaluated the effect of five aromatic plant species on the nest bacterial microbiota of Corsican blue tits Cyanistes caeruleus.

The central complex is a group of midline‐spanning neuropils in the brain of insects with a key role in goal‐directed orientation and navigation. Immunolabeling in 25 species, ranging from bristletails to flies, shows that neurons containing peptides of the tachykinin family of neuropeptides are present in most species studied.

Stability properties of positive stationary solutions to local partial differential equations with delay are studied. The results are applied to equations with not necessarily convex (concave) nonlinearities, for example, to the diffusive Nicholson's ...
