Experimental and Comparative Study of the Corrosion Behavior of Lean Duplex Stainless Steel in Seawater

Materials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
The localized corrosion behavior of lean duplex stainless steel EN 1.4062 is systematically compared with austenitic and higher‐alloyed duplex grades in natural seawater. A clear resistance ranking is established, highlighting EN 1.4062 as a cost‐effective alternative for limited marine exposure.

Atmospheric Corrosion Protection of LPBF Manufactured AlSi10Mg by Combining SiOx‐CVD and PDMS Grafting

Hybrid SiOₓ‐CVD/PDMS ultrathin films mitigate atmospheric corrosion of additively manufactured AlSi10Mg. Electrochemical analyses show reduced corrosion currents, increased charge‐transfer resistance, and suppressed pitting due to diminished cathodic activity and limited oxygen and ion transport under NaCl exposure.

ABSTRACT We consider a two by two system of inequalities which include fractional powers of the Laplace operator, coupled through a semilinear term of derivative type. We prove the nonexistence of global‐in‐time weak solutions for powers below the critical curve and possibly on the critical curve.

Controlled foaming of liquid crystalline elastomers (LCE) with expandable microspheres creates particle‐centred mesogenic interphases that enhance viscoelastic dissipation at low bubble fractions. Under impact, optimal damping shifts to moderate porosity, balancing interphase loss, bubble compression, compliance, and integrity.
