We report a rare astrophysical phenomenon, in which an early-type dwarf galaxy (dE), LEDA 1915372, is accreting gas from a nearby star-forming dwarf galaxy, MRK 0689, and is rejuvenating star formation activity at the center.

Blue straggler stars in dwarf spheroidal galaxies [PDF]
Blue straggler star (BSS) candidates have been observed in all old dwarf spheroidal galaxies (dSphs), however whether or not they are authentic BSSs or young stars has been a point of debate. To both address this issue and obtain a better understanding of the formation of BSSs in different environments we have analysed a sample of BSS candidates in two

IN-SPIRALING CLUMPS IN BLUE COMPACT DWARF GALAXIES [PDF]
Giant star-formation clumps in dwarf irregular galaxies can have masses exceeding a few percent of the galaxy mass enclosed inside their orbital radii. They can produce sufficient torques on dark matter halo particles, halo stars, and the surrounding disk to lose their angular momentum and spiral into the central region in 1 Gyr.

CARMENES: Blue planets orbiting red dwarfs [PDF]
The CARMENES (Calar Alto high-Resolution search for M dwarfs with Exo-earths with Near-infrared and optical Echelle Spectrographs) consortium, consisting of eleven Spanish and German institutions, has been established to conduct a radial-velocity survey of M dwarfs with the 3.5 m telescope at the Calar Alto Observatory.

The Diversity, Distribution and Status of Phytoplasma Diseases in China
Phytoplasmas are important prokaryotic pathogenic bacteria without cell walls, which were formerly known as mycoplasma-like organisms, and belong to the Mollicutes class, Candidatus Phytoplasma genus.

The Discovery of Blue-cored Dwarf Early-type Galaxies in Isolated Environments
The presence of blue-cored dwarf early-type galaxies (dE(bc)s) in high-density environments supports the scenario of the transformation of infalling late-type galaxies into quiescent dwarf early-type galaxies by environmental effects.

HI Properties of LSB Dwarf and Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies [PDF]
AbstractWe present high resolution (~ 15″) VLA HI observations of one LSB dwarf galaxy and 5 Blue Compact Dwarfs. Previous works have emphasized the difference in the peak column density of the HI between the two types of galaxy. However, the peak column density is typically only a factor of 2—4 greater in BCDs than in LSB dwarfs, suggesting that the ...

Dwarf tomatoes are advantageous when cultivated in a plant factory with artificial light because they can grow well in a small volume. However, few studies have been reported on cultivation in a controlled environment for improving productivity.
