Spectrophotometric Observations of Blue Compact Dwarf Galaxies: Markarian 370
We present results from a detailed spectrophotometric analysis of the blue compact dwarf galaxy (BCD) Mrk 370, based on deep UBVRI broad-band and Halpha narrow-band observations, and long-slit and two-dimensional spectroscopy of its brightest knots.

Mesoporous Carbon Thin Films with Large Mesopores as Model Material for Electrochemical Applications
Mesoporous carbon thin films possessing 70 nm mesopores are prepared on titanium substrates by soft templating of resol resins with a self‐synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(hexyl acrylate) block copolymer. A strategy to avoid corrosion of the metal substrate is presented, and the films are extensively characterized in terms of morphology ...

HI in Virgo's "Red and Dead" Dwarf Ellipticals - A Tidal Tail and Central Star Formation [PDF]
We investigate a sample of 3 dwarf elliptical galaxies in the Virgo Cluster which have significant reservoirs of HI. We present deep optical imaging (from CFHT and KPNO), HI spectra (Arecibo) and resolved HI imaging (VLA) of this sample.

Control of Covalent Bond Enables Efficient Magnetic Cooling
Giant and reversible magnetocaloric effect (MCE) is achieved by tuning covalency through sub‐unit‐cell chemical engineering, establishing a novel design principle for effective hysteresis control in magnetocaloric materials. Abstract Magnetic cooling, harnessing the temperature change in matter when exposed to a magnetic field, presents an energy ...
